Queens, NY – Members of the Boycott NY Post activist coalition group disrupted business as usual outside JetBlue Corporate Offices in Long Island City, on October 1, 2019 demanding to drop their support of the NY Post. The boycott started in April after a NY Post front page cover allegedly accusing Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of being responsible for the terrorist attacks of 9/11.
The #BoycottNYPost Campaign is an initiative launched by the Yemeni American Merchant Association (YAMA). The Boycott the NY Post Coalition is en effort of 30+ organizations that believe the NY Post doesn’t exercise responsible journalism when it continuously spews Hateful, Bigoted, Racist and Islamophobic content across it’s covers and pages.
The boycott was launched in April after the NY Post published an Islamophobic cover accusing Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of being responsible for the terrorist attacks of 9/11. Since April, over 1,500 bodegas have joined the #BoycottNYPost. We know our efforts are working when the NY Post recently increased the paper’s cost from $1.00 to $2.00!
YAMA is demanding ALL THE ADVERTISERS DROP THEIR SUPPORT OF THE NY POST! Advertisers like JetBlue, Macy’s, Bloomingdales, and Applebank are on notice that we have (4) demands and until the NY Post meets we will continue to Boycott! We hope you can join us on Tuesday, October 1st at 5:00 PM in front of JetBlue Corporate Offices at 27-01 Queens Plaza N, Long Island City, NY 11101.
